Can I have words/dates added to my pendant at a later date?
On hand stamped pieces, as long as there’s room on the pendant to include what you wish to add, and the existing words/dates have not been centered on a circle pendant we can certainly add more hand stamping at a later date.  Once multiple words/dates are centered on a circle pendant, you can’t add another name without effecting the centering.  If your piece is machine stamped (lush, zip, zesty or pulp) we cannot add more stamping to the front at a later date, but we can always add to the back.

Is there any cost to have additional words/dates added at a later date?
Nope, just the cost of shipping it to and from citrus!

Can I choose upper and lower case letters?
All hand stamping is done in upper case in the font that you see in the photographs. However, there are two sizes of type: 1/16” (as seen in the photos) and 3/32”. Unless you request otherwise, the smaller type (1/16”) is used. However, the stamping looks nice if the first letter in each word is in the larger type. If you would like your pendant stamped this way, please specify these instructions in the Additional Stamping Instructions box after you add the item to your cart.  The larger font is not recommended for the tart or slice pendants, as it tends to break the continuity of the circle.

All machine stamping can be done in upper or lower case; as you've entered it in your order.  We can adjust the size of the font, but typically we strive for a size of 2.5mm.

There’s a  pendant that I really like, but it won’t fit all of the words that I want to include.  Any suggestions?
Consider using initials or an abbreviated name instead.  A shorter nick name may be fun too!  It that doesn`t work, consider wearing 2 pendants layered together (as long as you don`t mind them rubbing and scratching each other slightly).  Layered pendants look best when there is contrast between the size of pendants worn together.  A small pendant like the `zing`or `tart`layered respectively with the `juicy`or `slice`pendant looks great!

Silver Care & Tarnish
Will my  silver tarnish?
Yes, all sterling silver will tarnish.  Wearing it is the best way to minimize tarnish.  When you’re not wearing it, store it in an airtight bag with an anti-tarnish strip (you will receive one with your shipment).  Storing it in a bag is also the best way to minimize scratching when you store your citrus jewellery; it may scratch if it rubs against other hard metals in your jewellery box.

What’s an anti-tarnish strip?
It’s a special type of paper that protects silver against tarnish.  It neutralizes tarnish-causing sulphur gases (it’s good to use with your good silver cutlery too!).  You will receive one in the airtight bag with your shipment.  The piece of paper is small, but that’s all you need!  It works for about 6 months. 

How should I clean my silver?
Frequently wash with soap (phosphate-free) and water.  Dry immediately.  A jewellery polishing cloth will remove light tarnish.  For heavier tarnish, use an Anti-tarnish cream such as Twinkle, it’s great for removing the heavy duty tarnish.  Both the cloth and Twinkle cream are available at .

Should I use chemical dips to remove tarnish?
No.  Although these dips remove tarnish at an accelerated rate, they are too strong and you may end up removing an important layer of the silver’s surface.  When this happens, your silver will tarnish more quickly in the future.

Can I use toothpaste to clean my silver?
No, toothpaste contains ingredients that are too abrasive and may scratch your silver.

Will exposure to water and soap damage my silver product over time?
No, as long as you’re using a phosphate-free detergent and it is dried immediately your silver should not be damaged.  However, salt water, humidity and sunscreen will accelerate tarnish.

Method of Payment
How do I pay for my  products?
Payment can be made via PayPal, which allows you to securely use your credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) without even setting up a PayPal account, and it’s free!  You can also pay from your existing PayPal account if you have one, or choose to set one up.  Check out the PayPal site for more info. www.paypal.com.  As an  alternative, you can pay by money order or call Citrus at 416.919.1726 after placing your order online (choosing Money Order as the method of payment) and we can process your credit card payment over the phone.  Sorry, we do not accept personal cheques.  Due to the custom nature of the product, payment is required before the order is prepared.

Choosing a Chain
I’m not sure which chain style to choose with my pendant, any suggestions for what looks best?
It’s really a personal choice, we love them all!  The chunkier chains (eternity, slate and oval link) are best suited to a larger pendant (delight, slice, sunny, punchy, blossom, squeeze, bird, juicy, pulp, lush) to ensure that the size/proportions are appropriate.  You can always choose a finer chain to wear with a larger pendant, but we don't recommend a chunky chain with a small pendant.  Please note that the snake chain may kink if it gets into the hands of little ones who have a greater tendency to pull or squeeze a chain.  If you’re often around babies or toddlers, the snake chain is not recommended.  For men, we suggest either the thin or thick ball chain or the leather cord.  The thick leather cord is quite masculine. 

I’m not sure what length of chain to buy.  Any suggestions?
If you’re buying for yourself, consider where you would like the pendant to sit.  If you like the look of a shorter necklace, the 16” would probably be best (this would sit just around the top of a crew neck shirt).  If you like to wear a longer necklace, or often wear U or V neck shirts, an 18” chain may be more suitable.  If you like the look of an even longer chain, longer lengths are available in some styles; up to 36”!  30" and 36" chains look beautiful doubled around the neck.  If you're planning to order a longer chain for doubling, consider a 30" as a small size and 36" as large.  A few chains are also available in 14”.  This would be choker length for a small/medium sized woman OR suitable for a girl or adolescent.  If you have a larger build, a 16” chain may seem a little snug.  We recommend at least 18" as the shortest length for a woman of larger than average sized build.
If you’re buying for someone else, consider the suggestions above based on the individual you’re buying for. Still stuck? Consider a gift certificate instead.  Then they can choose what they want!

Gift Certificates
How do I purchase a gift certificate?
All Gift Certificates are handled online.  It's quick and easy and doesn`t require a paper certificate to be mailed.  Gift certificates are purchased just like any other item in our store.  Once purchased and your payment has been confirmed by Citrus, you will receive an email letting you know that the value of the gift certificate has been 'deposited' into your Citrus account.  Next, login to your account and you will see a note in the top left corner of each web page letting you know that the certificate is in your account. You will also find a link allowing you to send the gift certificate to a friend. 

How do I send a gift certificate?
Login to your account after receiving an email confirmation that the gift certificate has been deposited into your account.  Click on Want to send it to a friend? at the top of the page.  When you send a gift certificate, you need to specify the following:
1.  The name of the person you are sending the gift certificate to.
2.  The email address of the person you are sending the gift certificate to.
3.  The amount you want to send (you don't have to send the full amount of the gift certificate.  You can dispurse in various increments to different people).
4.  A short message which will appear in the email to the recipient.

How do I redeem a gift certificate?
There are 2 easy steps.  Deposit the certificate into your account, and Apply it as a method of payment when you`re ready to use it. 

     Deposit: When you receive a gift certificate by email it will contain details of who sent the gift certificate, including the value, redeem code, a short message from the gift giver and a link to login or create an online account at Citrus.  If you login or create an account using the same email address that the email was sent to, the gift certificate will automatically be deposited into your Citrus account (you will see a note to this effect in the top left corner of each web page after login).  This credit can be used at any time; it doesn't expire.   If you do not see the gift certificate deposited into your Citrus account after login, enter the redeem code provided in the email from the gift giver in the Gift Certificate redeem code box on the Payment Information page during checkout and hit the "redeem" button.  Your gift certificate will be deposited into your account (you will see a note to this effect in the top left corner of each web page). 

     Apply: When you're ready to use it, simply shop and checkout.  When you get to the Payment Information page you will see a payment option (below the PayPal and Money Order options) to apply your gift certificate.  Tick this box and your gift certificate will be applied.  Please note, you will need to select another payment method to cover the difference if the value of the gift certificate is less than your order total.  If the gift certificate value is higher than your order total the balance will be left on deposit in your account for future use.  You can either apply it to a future purchase, or send it to a friend at any time.

What's a removable clasp, and do I want that?
Upon request, chains or beads with a toggle clasp can have the pendant attached with a removable clasp (what attaches the pendant to the toggle).  It can be opened by hand so the pendant can easily be removed from the toggle giving you the flexibility to wear the beads/chain with or without the pendant, or the pendant with a different chain.  Because it’s removable, it will loosen from frequent opening and closing.  You will need to check it regularly and squeeze the back with a pair of pliers from time to time so it remains tight.  Unless requested, we will attach your pendant to the toggle with a secure jump ring that requires 2 pairs of pliers to open and close.  If you would prefer to have a "removable clasp" please make this request in the Additional Stamping Instructions box after entering the words/dates to stamp.

Can products be purchased at a retail store?
All products are available online.  All Citrus products are on display and can be tried on and purchased (to be ready within 1 week) and/or picked-up at Planet Kid, located at 16 Roncesvalles Ave.Toronto, 416.537.9233.  Other stores in Ontario have a selection of Citrus products available in-store.  They include Tummies to Tots in London,  Hi Ho Silver in Peterborough and Jet Baby in Oakville.
 
Is sterling silver 100% silver?
No.  Pure silver is quite soft.  Sterling silver is 925, which means that it’s more than 90% pure silver and the remainder is made up of metal alloy, such as copper and zinc.  The alloy strengthens the metal.

I’m purchasing the  silver as a gift.  Can I have it gift wrapped?
Yes!  All products are beautifully packaged and ready to give as a gift.  Even if you’re ordering it for yourself, we want you to have fun opening it too.  And the packaging is free!
